About Mia
My name is Mia, and I'm a 14 year-old musician. I love playing electric and acoustic guitar and electric piano, but my favourite thing to do is sing.

Most of my free time is spent writing and/or producing music; both covers and originals. I started using Garageband around age 9, and continued to teach myself how to use the program right up until January of 2020, when I finally made the switch to Logic Pro X.

I have been uploading my music to Soundcloud for around a year and a half now, and soon (with the release of my debut album) I will start putting music on all streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, and more.

Clairo, my favourite singer.

I also love to listen to music, and I do it every single day as often as I can. It inspires me, motivates me, and makes me happy. some of my favourite artists include The 1975, Clairo, The Japanese House, No Rome, The Internet, Kali Uchis, Beabadoobee, and Tyler, the Creator.

When I was 6 years old, my dad and I found a little Yamaha keyboard at a garage sale. He showed me all the buttons and what they could do, and I thought it was so cool -- so we bought it. I taught myself for years until I finally took a year of lessons 6 years later.

From age 8 to 12, I played the clarinet in my school band. In my later years of clarinet, I also played the bass clarinet since our band needed a new one. I quit around grade 4 level when I started high school.
At age 11, I got my first guitar and started teaching myself how to play. I have since gained two more guitars and continue to play quite often. I also own a ukulele, which I play from time to time.

At age 13, I started taking singing lessons at school. I am still currently attending, and enjoying it lots. My favourite genres to sing are jazz and RnB, because they challenge multiple aspects of my voice, making singing them really rewarding. I'm also a huge fan of jazz chords/chord progressions, and I love utilising jazz techniques in my own music.

Music has always been a passion of mine, and it's always been interesting and enjoyable to me. I hope I will be able to pursue a career in music in the future.
